Quokkas have always held a special place in my heart. As my favourite Australian marsupial, I’ve long felt they deserve far more love and recognition than they get. Outside of Australia, many people have never even heard of them - and I think that’s such a shame... These gentle, ever-smiling creatures are full of charm, and I wanted to capture that in this playful scene. Here, a quokka carefully paints a speckled egg, tiny brush in paw, while being assisted by his ladybug companion.
